We’re Dan and Melissa, and we run Boundless Horizon Puppies out of Millersburg, Ohio. We’ve placed Cavapoo, Maltipoo, and Teddy Bear puppies with Michigan families since 2022, working with a small network of family home raisers Dan evaluates personally. There’s no kennel involved anywhere in that chain.
Most of what turns up when you search puppies for sale in Michigan is a classifieds site listing hundreds of breeders you’ve never talked to. We’re the opposite of that: one small operation, three breeds, and a phone number that reaches Dan directly. Read how our placement process works.

The Cavapoo is our most requested breed in Michigan, and it’s easy to see why: an easy-to-train, people-focused dog that does well in a Detroit condo, a Grand Rapids house, or a quieter property out toward Jackson or Saginaw. Michigan families like it for the low shedding and the gentle temperament around kids. We place Cavapoo litters with families across the state, and every puppy goes home with the same health testing and training no matter where in Michigan you’re located.
Is a Cavapoo the right fit for your Michigan household?
This breed bonds hard, and a full workday alone doesn’t sit well with most Cavapoos — a dog walker or daycare plan matters if your house is empty most of the day. Brushing runs 2 to 3 times a week for an F1 Cavapoo, more often for an F1b closer to Poodle. In exchange, you get a dog that adapts to almost any Michigan setting, from a Metro Detroit suburb to a quieter West Michigan town.

A Maltipoo’s small size and minimal shedding make it a natural fit for apartments in Michigan’s bigger cities and smaller homes alike, which is probably why it’s the breed we get the most Metro Detroit and Grand Rapids inquiries about. It’s also a common pick for allergy-sensitive households. Wherever you land in Michigan, delivery or pickup, every Maltipoo puppy comes from the same vetted network and carries the same health guarantee.
Is a Maltipoo the right fit for your Michigan household?
Two things matter more than location. First, someone needs to be around most days — this breed doesn’t do well left alone for long stretches. Second, the coat needs daily attention; go a day or two without brushing and you’re untangling mats instead of petting a happy dog. Handle both of those and a Maltipoo does fine whether you’re in a Troy high-rise or a house out past Lansing.

Teddy Bear puppies (Shih Tzu × Bichon Frise, sometimes called Shichon or Zuchon) are the calmest of the three breeds we place, and a favorite with retirees and families with younger kids across Michigan. The low-exercise needs make it forgiving of apartment life in Detroit or a quiet lot outside Saginaw alike. If “teddy bear puppies near me” is what brought you here, this is the breed those searches are usually about.
Is a Teddy Bear the right fit for your Michigan household?
Out of the three breeds, this one asks the least of you activity-wise — a couple of short walks a day is plenty, and it’s comfortable with a quiet, mostly-indoor routine. Grooming is where the real commitment sits: the coat mats fast without daily brushing, and those Shih Tzu eyes need a gentle wipe every day too. Stay on top of that routine and a Teddy Bear is an easy fit for almost any Michigan household, from a retired couple to a family with young kids.

Michigan Puppy FAQs
Do you deliver puppies anywhere in Michigan?
Every corner of the state, one flat rate: $599, and the drive is arranged personally in a private, climate-controlled vehicle rather than handed off to a shipper. Prefer to make the trip to Millersburg, Ohio yourself? Pickup at Deer Run Park costs nothing.
What breeds does Boundless Horizon Puppies offer in Michigan?
We place three breeds: Cavapoo, Maltipoo, and Teddy Bear (Shih Tzu x Bichon Frise). We don’t carry any other breeds, so if a page on another site lists us for something else, it’s not accurate.
How much do puppies cost for Michigan delivery?
Cavapoos and Maltipoos run $1,500 to $2,200. Teddy Bears run $1,200 to $2,200. Price depends on coat color, generation, and parent lineage. A $200 refundable deposit holds any puppy and applies to the total.
Is Boundless Horizon Puppies a kennel or commercial breeding operation?
No. We’re a small, owner-run placement service based in Millersburg, Ohio. Every puppy comes from a family home raiser in our network, not a kennel, and Dan personally evaluates each one before working with them.
What’s included with every puppy?
A 2-year written health guarantee, both parents health-tested, ENS neurological training from days 3 to 16, current vaccinations and deworming, a microchip registered to you, 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance, and Dan’s direct phone number for the life of your dog.
