The Teddy Bear (a Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise cross) is the mildest-mannered of the three breeds we place. Ocala’s older neighborhoods around the downtown square run at an easy pace, with shade trees and front porches, and this breed matches that rhythm without much effort. It skips the cardiac monitoring the Cavapoo needs, and a daily walk plus some evening company on the porch covers most of what it needs.

Ocala Weather: What to Expect
Winter (December – February)
Because Ocala sits well inland, winter mornings here run noticeably colder than the coast. Daytime highs typically land in the upper 60s to low 70s°F, though a cold front can push overnight lows into the 40s. A light jacket for the early hours covers it — nothing heavier is needed.
Summer & Hurricane Season (June – November)
Summer highs reach the low-90s°F with heavy humidity and near-daily afternoon thunderstorms.
