About Us
We’re Dan and Melissa, owners of Boundless Horizon Puppies based in Millersburg, Ohio, since 2022. We place Cavapoo, Maltipoo, and Teddy Bear puppies with Kokomo and Howard County families through a vetted network of family home raisers, never a commercial facility. We evaluate every home raiser in person before any litter is placed.
Kokomo calls itself the “City of Firsts,” and the claim has some real history behind it — the first pushbutton car radio, the first mechanical corn picker, and the first stainless steel car body all came out of Kokomo factories. That manufacturing identity still shapes the city today: Stellantis runs two large transmission and casting plants here, and a lot of households run on shift schedules built around that work. Read about our ENS training program, our 2-year health guarantee, and our placement process.

A good number of our Kokomo Cavapoo families work rotating shifts at one of the local plants, and a Cavapoo’s easygoing, adaptable temperament tends to handle an inconsistent schedule better than a higher-energy breed would. We hear from young families in the established neighborhoods on the city’s east and west sides just as often as from empty-nesters. One honest caution worth knowing up front: Cavapoos bond deeply and can develop separation anxiety when left alone 8 to 10 hours a day. If a rotating shift means your home is empty for long, unpredictable stretches without a walker or daycare plan, talk to us before reserving.

Kokomo’s Maltipoo interest skews toward retirees and empty-nesters downsizing out of larger homes into apartments and smaller houses closer to downtown, where a low-shedding, low-exercise dog fits the smaller space and the slower pace both. We also hear from a fair number of buyers managing a mild allergy in the household. The tradeoff at that size is real fragility, so young kids and bigger dogs still need supervision.

Howard County has a slower population growth curve than the Indianapolis suburbs, and a lot of our Teddy Bear conversations here come from people who’ve lived in the same Kokomo neighborhood for decades and want a small, calm companion dog for this next stage rather than a project dog. We also place a handful with residents of the senior living communities around town, where a quiet, low-shedding dog fits the building rules. Either way, the daily eye and dental routine is the real ask, not the exercise level, and most people find it manageable once they know it’s coming.

Howard County Weather
Winter
Howard County sees around 25 to 30 inches of snow a year, with January highs in the mid-30s°F. A lined vest handles most cold-weather walks comfortably for all three breeds.
Summer
Summers are hot and humid, with July highs typically in the mid-to-upper 80s°F. Shift walks to before 9am or after 7pm from June through August.
Heartworm Prevention
Mosquito season in north-central Indiana runs roughly April through October. Ask your Kokomo vet about year-round prevention rather than seasonal dosing, since a mild winter can shorten the safe off-season.

Kokomo, Indiana Puppy FAQ
Do you deliver puppies to Kokomo, Indiana?
Yes. We deliver Cavapoo, Maltipoo, and Teddy Bear puppies to Kokomo and all of Howard County for a flat $599. Or pick up at Deer Run Park, 3102 Glen Drive, Millersburg, OH 44654. Reserve with a $200 refundable deposit.
What cardiac health testing do the Cavapoo parents have?
Both Cavapoo parents follow the MVD Breeding Protocol: no Cavalier bred before age 2.5 without a clear cardiac evaluation, and no dog bred if either parent showed signs of mitral valve disease before age 5. Your Kokomo vet should begin annual cardiac auscultation at age 2.
How big do Maltipoo puppies get?
Adult Maltipoos usually reach 5 to 15 pounds, small enough that falls, rough play, and larger dogs all carry more risk than they would for a bigger breed. Supervise playtime with young kids and bigger dogs.
Why do Teddy Bear puppies need daily eye care?
Yes. Teddy Bear puppies get their round, prominent eyes from the Shih Tzu side, and those eyes collect debris and develop tear staining more easily than most breeds. A daily wipe with a damp cloth and keeping hair trimmed away from the eyes prevents most issues.
