About Boundless Horizon Puppies

We are a trusted puppy placement service, not a breeder ourselves. We partner with carefully vetted, top-quality family breeders who share our commitment to raising healthy, well-socialized puppies.

What does that mean for you? It means we've done the hard work of finding the best breeders — visiting their facilities, reviewing their health testing protocols, evaluating their living conditions, and confirming their breeding practices meet our strict standards. When you get a puppy through us, you get the peace of mind of knowing we've already done the research for you.

We personally evaluate every breeder we work with. Our standards include:

  • Genetic health testing of all parent dogs
  • Clean, spacious living conditions where puppies are raised in a home environment
  • Proper veterinary care including regular vet exams, vaccinations, and deworming schedules
  • Early socialization practices so puppies are exposed to people, sounds, and handling from birth
  • ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) training from days 3 through 16
  • Ethical breeding practices with proper rest periods between litters and appropriate age requirements

We don't work with puppy mills, commercial kennels, or anyone who cuts corners on the health and wellbeing of their dogs. Period.

We're based in Millersburg, Ohio (zip code 44654), in the heart of Ohio's Amish Country. We serve families locally across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia, and Kentucky, and also offer nationwide delivery to all 50 states.

Boundless Horizon Puppies was established in 2022. Since then, we've helped hundreds of families find their perfect puppy. Our focus has always been on quality over quantity — connecting families with healthy, well-bred puppies from breeders who truly care about their dogs.

Several things set us apart:

  • Vetted breeding partners only — We personally evaluate every breeder we work with, so you don't have to
  • 2-year written Health Guarantee — Every puppy comes with our comprehensive health coverage
  • ENS training on all puppies — Early Neurological Stimulation for smarter, calmer, healthier dogs
  • Genetic testing of parent dogs — We require health screening from our breeding partners
  • Nationwide delivery — We bring your puppy safely to you, wherever you are
  • Transparency — We share vaccination records, genetic testing results, vet health certificates, and microchip information with every puppy
  • Lifetime support — We're here for questions long after you bring your puppy home

Our Breeds

We specialize in 3 popular designer breeds:

🐾 Maltipoo
🐶 Cavapoo
🧸 Teddy Bear (Shichon)

Visit our available puppies page to see who's ready to come home!

All three of our breeds make wonderful family dogs and are especially well-suited for households with children:

  • Cavapoos — Gentle, playful, and affectionate. Their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel heritage makes them naturally patient and loving with kids of all ages. A great mid-size option at 12–25 lbs.
  • Maltipoos — Compact and lively at 5–20 lbs. Maltipoos bond closely with their families and love being involved in daily life — great for families with older children who want an interactive, spirited companion.
  • Teddy Bears (Shichons) — Exceptionally patient and easygoing. Their calm Bichon Frise and affectionate Shih Tzu heritage makes them one of the best choices for families with toddlers or younger children.

Not sure which is the right fit? Reach out and we'll help you decide based on your family's lifestyle.

While no dog is 100% hypoallergenic, all three of our breeds are considered low-shedding and are well-suited for allergy sufferers:

  • Maltipoos — Soft, low-shedding coat inherited from both Maltese and Poodle parents
  • Cavapoos — Poodle cross that typically sheds much less than purebreds
  • Teddy Bears (Shichons) — Low-shedding Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise mix with a soft, fluffy coat

If allergies are a concern, we recommend spending time with the breed before committing and consulting with your allergist.

Yes — all three of our breeds are excellent choices for apartment and condo living:

  • Maltipoos — Typically 5–20 lbs, calm, and very adaptable to smaller homes
  • Cavapoos — 12–25 lbs, moderate energy, and happy in any space as long as they get daily walks
  • Teddy Bears (Shichons) — Small (8–18 lbs), easygoing, and perfectly content wherever you are

Even in smaller spaces, all dogs need daily walks and mental stimulation. A small dog doesn't mean no exercise!

All three breeds we offer are designer breeds — intentional crosses between two purebred parents. The goal is to combine the best traits of both parent breeds:

  • Maltipoo — Maltese × Poodle: friendly personality + low-shedding, hypoallergenic coat
  • Cavapoo — Cavalier King Charles Spaniel × Poodle: gentle temperament + soft, low-shedding coat
  • Teddy Bear (Shichon) — Shih Tzu × Bichon Frise: affectionate nature + fluffy, low-shedding coat

All three come with the same health guarantee, genetic testing of parent dogs, ENS training, and veterinary care.

Health & Guarantee

Yes! Every puppy comes with our comprehensive written 2-year Health Guarantee that covers life-threatening congenital and hereditary defects for two (2) years from the date of purchase.

You'll receive a personalized Health Guarantee form with your puppy's information pre-filled — breed, date of birth, microchip number, genetic testing results, and more.

Read the full details on our Health Guarantee page.

Yes. We require genetic health testing from all of our breeding partners. Parent dogs are screened for breed-specific hereditary conditions before they're ever bred. The genetic testing results for your puppy's mom and dad are included on your Health Guarantee form.

Every puppy receives age-appropriate vaccinations before going home. You'll receive a complete vaccination record showing exactly what was given and when. Your vet will use this to continue the vaccination schedule.

Important: Your puppy will not be fully vaccinated at 8 weeks old. You'll need to continue the vaccination series with your veterinarian. Until your puppy is fully vaccinated, avoid dog parks, pet stores, and areas where unvaccinated dogs may have been.

Yes. Every puppy is microchipped before going home. The microchip number is included on your Health Guarantee. We'll provide instructions on how to register the microchip in your name so your puppy can always find their way back to you.

Yes — within 72 hours. Our Health Guarantee requires that you have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of taking possession. This protects both you and the puppy by establishing an independent health baseline.

We recommend finding a vet and scheduling the appointment before your puppy comes home so you're ready to go.

The guarantee does not cover common, treatable puppy conditions such as:

  • Intestinal parasites (worms, coccidia, giardia)
  • Upper respiratory infections or kennel cough
  • Ear infections, UTIs, or allergies
  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), especially in toy breeds
  • Umbilical hernias or minor cosmetic concerns

It also does not cover anything resulting from neglect, abuse, accidents, or failure to complete the required 72-hour vet visit. See our full Health Guarantee page for complete details.

🎓

ENS Training

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) is a program of 5 gentle exercises performed on puppies from days 3 through 16 of life. Originally developed by the U.S. Military for their working dog program, ENS helps puppies develop stronger nervous systems, better immune function, and improved stress tolerance.

Each exercise takes only 3–5 seconds and includes tactile stimulation, head positions, and thermal stimulation. The results last the dog's entire life.

Learn everything about our ENS program on our ENS Training page.

Yes. ENS training is a requirement for all of our breeding partners. Every puppy that comes through Boundless Horizon Puppies has received the full ENS program from days 3 through 16.

Research shows ENS-trained puppies grow up with:

  • Stronger immune systems — Better ability to fight off illness
  • Improved stress tolerance — Calmer in new situations
  • Better problem-solving — Smarter and faster learners
  • Stronger cardiovascular health — Improved heart rate and function
  • More confidence — Less fearful and more curious
  • Easier to train — Pick up commands faster
  • Better adaptability — Transition to new homes more smoothly

No — and here's why. ENS training only works during a specific window: days 3 through 16 of a puppy's life. By the time your puppy comes home at 8 weeks old, that window has closed. The good news is that the benefits are already built in and will last your dog's entire life!

Puppy Care

Here's a checklist to prepare for your new family member:

  • Crate — Sized appropriately for your puppy's expected adult size
  • Food and water bowls — Stainless steel or ceramic recommended
  • Puppy food — We'll let you know what your puppy has been eating so you can match it
  • Collar, leash, and ID tag
  • Potty pads or outdoor potty area established
  • Chew toys and teething toys
  • Bed or blanket for their crate
  • Enzyme-based cleaner for accidents
  • Vet appointment scheduled within 72 hours

We'll provide details on what food your puppy has been eating so you can maintain the same diet and avoid stomach upset. If you want to switch foods, do so gradually over 7–10 days by mixing increasing amounts of the new food with the old.

Your vet can also recommend a high-quality puppy food appropriate for your specific breed and size. Puppies generally eat 3 meals per day until around 6 months old, then transition to 2 meals per day.

House training takes patience and consistency. Here are the basics:

  • Take them out frequently — Every 1–2 hours, plus after eating, drinking, playing, and waking up
  • Use the same spot — Go to the same outdoor area each time
  • Praise immediately — Reward with treats and praise the moment they go outside
  • Supervise indoors — Watch for sniffing and circling (signs they need to go)
  • Crate when unsupervised — Dogs naturally avoid soiling their sleeping area
  • Never punish accidents — Clean them up quietly and move on

ENS-trained puppies often house train faster than average because they're better learners and more adaptable. Most families report their puppy catches on within 1–3 weeks!

Young puppies have small bladders and need frequent attention. A general guideline:

  • 8–10 weeks: 1 hour maximum
  • 10–12 weeks: 2 hours
  • 3–4 months: 3–4 hours
  • 5–6 months: 4–5 hours
  • 6+ months: Up to 6 hours (gradually)

If you work full-time, consider arranging a dog walker, puppy daycare, or having someone check in during the day for the first few months.

Policies

Unless you purchase a puppy with full breeding rights, you are required to spay or neuter your puppy by 12 months of age. Failure to comply voids the remaining Health Guarantee and any registration papers if applicable.

Your vet can advise on the best timing for your specific breed and puppy.

Breeding rights may be available for select puppies at an additional cost. Please contact us to discuss availability and pricing. Puppies sold without breeding rights must be spayed or neutered by 12 months.

We understand that life circumstances can change. If you can no longer care for your puppy, you must contact us first before rehoming, surrendering, or selling the puppy. We will make every effort to help find your puppy a new loving home.

Our puppies must never be surrendered to a shelter or rescue without notifying us first. We care about every puppy we place and want to ensure they always have a safe home.

All sales are final. No refunds are given for change of mind, lifestyle changes, behavioral issues, or any non-health-related reason after a puppy has been taken home.

We encourage you to thoroughly research the breed, evaluate your lifestyle, and be confident in your decision before committing. We're always happy to answer questions and help you choose the right puppy for your family before you place a deposit.

Registration availability depends on the specific puppy and breed. Each puppy's listing will indicate whether registration is included. If registration is important to you, ask us about it before placing your deposit and we'll let you know what's available for that specific puppy.
